Ellen Dodd Stiff, 84 of Thaxton, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2010. She was born on September 10, 1926 in Botetourt County, daughter of the late Harry Marks Dodd and Annie Irene Smith Dodd. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley "Buck" Stiff, III. Survivors include her sister, Betty S. Weeks. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 10 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Dr. Eldridge Cullum officiating. Interment will follow in the Thaxton Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
