Eleanor Johnson Messick, 88 of Bedford, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at her residence. She was born on Tuesday, March 5, 1929 in Lewes, DE, a daughter of the late Floyd Martin Johnson and Ethel Coffin Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Purnell Todd Messick; her daughter, Pat Moore of Huddleston; her granddaughter, Kim Alderman of Clemmons, NC as well as two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 am on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Short Funeral Home, Georgetown, Delaware and a funeral service will follow in the chapel at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Georgetown, Delaware.
Local arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
