Obituary of Anita Paige Fulton Cheek

Anita Paige Fulton Cheek, 84 of Bedford, known to loved ones as Paige went to walk with the Lord on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. She was born on Thursday, May 25, 1933 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Cyrus M. Fulton and Thelma V. Abbott Fulton.   She leaves us to join her husband, John Cheek and good friends,  J. J. Morgan and Benny Meadows, among others.  

A well known fixture of Bedford, you could frequently spot her at Forks Country Restaurant enjoying a meal and keeping her husband of 63 years, John, in line. Paige was employed by Bedford Memorial hospital for 43 years, doing everything from delivering babies, to managing patient financial records. Paige loved life, a jovial laugh, and her friends and family. 

She is succeeded in life by her two children,  Tara R. Cheek; Mark Cheek & wife, Teri; her granddaughter, Morgan T. Allen & husband, Will; her great granddaughters, Parkyr & Avery as well as her brother, Cyrus M. "Sonny" Fulton & wife, Norris all of Bedford. 

The family would like to thank Dr. John MacNeill and everyone at the Bedford Hospice House for their kind and compassionate care during our Mother's illness.  

The family requests that those wishing to make memorials to consider the American Cancer Society, 2050 Langorne Road,  Suite 201, Lynchburg, VA 24501 to raise awareness for cancer.  

The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel with Rev. William Clark, Jr. & Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
