Obituary of Coty Wade Meador

Coty Wade Meador, 26 of Bedford passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.  He was born January 18, 1991 in Bedford, a son of Michael Joe Meador & Trista Ayers Robertson who survive.  He was preceded in death by his paternal step-grandfather, Jimmy Johnson, his paternal great grandfathers, Berkley White & Lafayette Meador; his maternal great grandparents, Ozella & Dewey Ashwell, Flossie & Willie Ayers.

In addition to his father & mother, he is survived by his wife, Ashley N. Meador; his step-father, Mark Robertson; step-sons, Trevor & Carson Ferris; his sister, Cayle Meador; his maternal grandparents, Grady & Christine Ayers; paternal grandmother, Judy Johnson; paternal grandfather, Ronnie Meador; his paternal great grandmothers, Lois Meador, Leila White as well as numerous aunts, uncles & cousins.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Coty Meador Fund, P. O. Box 926, Bedford, VA 24523.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Staunton Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Holdren & Rev. Larry Ross officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
