Obituary of Dorothy Morrison Thompson

Dorothy Morrison Thompson, 91 of Thaxton passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  She was born on May 27, 1926 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

She is survived by her husband of seventy-two years, Robert H. Thompson; her children, Robert Harold Thompson, Jr. & wife, Joyce, William Rawdon Thompson & wife, Sue, David Gaunt Thompson & wife, Pamela, Cynthia Elizabeth Bartholomew & husband, Nicholas, Lindy D. Thompson-Tressler & Romy, Colleen Goodman Thompson; her sister, Jean Mathias & husband, Wilson as well as sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at 4 PM with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
