Rick,
I have been praying for you and the girls since I heard. Your despair and grief are unimaginable to me.
I was just reading this quote last night in Tim Keller's book on suffering:
"The other gods were strong, but Thou was weak. They rode, but Thou didst stumble to a throne. But to our wounds only God's wounds can speak, And not a god has wounds but Thou alone."
As you indicated, this is not His final plan.
