Obituary of Roger Tim Hodges

Roger Tim Hodges, 76 of  Moneta, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  He was born on Friday, April 25, 1941  in Roanoke, a son of the late Jesse Edward Hodges  and Margaret Obenchain Hodges.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Hodges.

He was manager of the Carpet Shops in Roanoke and was of the baptist faith.  

He is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Smith Hodges; his son, Brian Hodges & wife, Sherry of Charlottesville; his step-son, Jason DeLong & wife, Ginger of Moneta; his sister, Scarlet Belle Hensley of Roanoke; his daughter-in-law, Sheila Hodges of Virginia Beach as well as his grandchildren, Hayden & Brandon Hodges and step-grandchildren, Maisy & Adam DeLong, nieces & great nieces and other extended family & friends. 

The family requests those wishing to make memorials consider the American Cancer Society, 2050 Langhorne Road, Suite 201, Lynchburg, VA 24501.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Wayne Sellers officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 PM at  Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
