Obituary of Myrtle Carter Nester

Myrtle Carter Nester, 70 of  Blue Ridge, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 23, 2017.  She was born on Tuesday, April 15, 1947  in Trenton, NJ, a daughter of the late Floyd Jackson Carter and Ruth Welch Justice Carter.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Ron Carter.

Myrtle was a devout Christian who was loved by all and had numerous friends.   She is survived by her husband, Harold Rogers Nester;  her sons, Michael A. Nester of Roanoke, Andrew L. Nester & wife, Karen of Blue Ridge; her daughter, Lisa R. Highfield & husband, Stephen of Montvale, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren as well as seven brothers & sisters.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Faith Life Baptist Church with Rev. Roger McKinney officiating.  Interment will follow in Montvale Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
