Mable Wills Obituary

Mable W. Wills, 93 of Evington went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 26, 2010 while in Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Saturday, September 29, 1917 in Bedford Co., a daughter of the late Garnet Bruce Whorley and Clara Robertson Whorley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Richard Wills, two brothers, Warren Whorley and Watson Whorley and a grandson, Darren Wills. She was retired from Rubatex with over twenty years service and was also a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Howard W. Wills & wife, Melba of FL, William N. Wills & wife, Judy of Evington, Leonard W. Wills & wife, Brenda of Altavista; two sisters, Ruth Hensley of Lynch Station, Mary Ashwell of Bedford; three grandchildren, David Wills & wife, Laura of FL, Deborrah Watson & husband, Reggie of FL, Tamara Johnson of Evington; four great-grandchildren, Duston, Hunter, Kellen and Traci as well as numerous nieces, nephews & many dear friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Autumn Care for the great care she received while living there and a thank you to the staff of Lynchburg General Hospital as well. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to make memorials please consider a donation to her church that she loved, Bethlehem Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Grant Harbridge, Rev. Tim Dooley and Rev. Luther Lemon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday after 11 AM and the family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston
