Obituary of Edna Burroughs Morgan
Edna Burroughs Morgan, 92 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on Wednesday, June 3, 1925 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Samuel Nicholas Burroughs and Ottie Mitchell Burroughs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Morgan.
Edna was a very talented person having won many local, state and national prizes in cooking, crafting and sewing, her favorite being tailoring. In her early years, she was an active 4-H member. In later years, an active 4-H leader, having taught many Junior & Senior sewing classes. Edna served on the Board of Directors of Lewis-Gale Senior Friends in Salem and the Board of Directors of CVAAA in Lynchburg. She was also a leader for both. She organized Mount Pleasant Tours and arranged and guided forty-three trips touring 46 of the 48 continuous states, 6 provinces of Canada and Mexico. She started the Stone Mountain String Band and was their banjo player for some time. She was also instrumental in the organization of the Huddleston Senior Citizens group and served as their chairman. She also served as Election official for forty-five years.
There was no visitation and services were private.
