Obituary of Nancy Roberts Fitzgerald

Nancy Roberts Fitzgerald, 74 of  Bedford, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at  Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.  She was born on Monday, October 4, 1943 in Covington, a daughter of the late Lawrence Talman Roberts, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Newcomer Roberts. 

She was a floral designer with Glolyn Flowers for many years and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  

She is survived by her husband, Wayne L. Fitzgerald; her daughters, Wanda Fitzgerald of Lynchburg, Teri F. Hubbard of Bedford, Cindy Fitzgerald of Bedford; her granddaughters, Taylor H. Abbott & husband, Dwayne, Rebecca Hubbard & fiance, John Cheek; sisters, Catherine "Jean" Beard of Bedford, Loretta Jones & husband, Gerald of Blue Ridge, Dorothy "Dot" Miller & husband, Randy of Huddleston; brothers, Larry Roberts & wife, Debbie of Thaxton, Richard Roberts & wife, Sherry of Bedford; sister-in-law, Janet F. Powers & husband, Larry of Bedford as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, camping family & her special dog, Dusty.  

The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider a donation to your favorite charity.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel with Rev. Vernon DeLong officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
