Obituary of Lena Stevens Krantz

Lena Stevens Krantz, 94 of  Huddleston, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center.  She was born on Saturday, February 24, 1923  in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Daniel Golvie Stevens and Sarah Elizabeth Wilson Stevens.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Bennett Krantz and three sons, Larry Glenn Krantz, Wayne Krantz & Randy Krantz.  She was a retired seamstress at Duti-Duds, a nurses aide at Bedford Memorial Hospital and was a member of  Huddleston United Methodist Church.  

She is survived by her sons, Earl E. Krantz, Sr. & wife, Brenda of Lynch Station; Timothy D. Krantz & wife, Sandra of Moneta, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.  

The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider the Alzheimers Association, 102 Commerce Street, Suite 3C, Lynchburg, VA 24503.  

The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston and a funeral service will follow at 1 PM in the chapel, with Rev. Vernon DeLong officiating.  Interment will follow in Leftwich Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
