Obituary of John Edgar Diggs

John Edgar Diggs, 29 of Vinton, was called home Tuesday, January 2, 2018 to be with our Lord and family members that went before him after a 6 month battle with Stage 4 esophageal cancer.  He was a beloved father of five, the fifth being due in April.  He was a loving son and big brother to his sisters and was a hardworking family man who was devoted to his wife and children.  His family finds comfort in that he is now with our Lord and free from suffering and pain.

He is survived by his wife, Shayna Harris Diggs; his son, Joel; his daughters, Alexis, Aubree & Abigail; and his unborn child; his father, John Edward Diggs and mother Virginia Diggs; his sisters, Alicia Davison & husband, Jason, Katelin Ritter & husband, Michael as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.  

There will be a Celebration of Life service at 1 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2017 at New Beginnings Baptist Church, 5410 Jordantown Road, Vinton with Pastor Michael Huffman officiating.  

Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
