Obituary of Robert Neal Craghead

Robert “Bobby” Neal Craghead, of Moneta, a loving, kind, and devoted father, grandfather, brother and son as well as a loyal, generous, and respected friend to many, walked into his Savior’s embrace on January 8, 2018.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Tonya Gordon and son-in-law Ron; grandsons Caleb Roman, Jacob Neal, and granddaughter Gracie Kate; son,  Tracy Neal Craghead and daughter-in-law Kelley Craghead; and grandson,  Logan; daughter,  Trilyon Boone and son-in-law George; grandsons,  John William and Lane; brothers and sisters-in-law;  Jim and Faye Craghead, Pete and Margie Craghead, sister and brother-in-law;  Janet and Raymond Sellers, several nieces and nephews, dear cousin Jozan Obenchain, and tremendously loved Aunt Alma.

Bobby loved the Lord and was an active attendee of Eastlake Community Church.  A gifted entrepreneur and an extremely hard worker, he played a part in supporting and starting many key businesses during the growth and expansion of Smith Mountain Lake and the Moneta Community.  He was the current owner of Eastlake Self Storage.  An avid gun enthusiast, and an original “American picker”, Bobby found great joy in finding a good deal or treasure.  A private man, his humble generosities were numerous, yet overall unknown.  Those who truly had the pleasure and honor to know him, could share many a story of the extent of his kindness and humor.  The abundant, unwavering support and love he demonstrated towards his children and grandchildren is immeasurable.

His life was a demonstration of 2 Timothy 4:7
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

A celebration of his life will be held at 5 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2017 at Eastlake Community Church.  Family members will be receiving guests beginning at 4pm.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Eastlake Community Church,  1118 Hendricks Store Road, Moneta, VA 24121  for the future development of a youth gun safety training program and shooting range in honor of Bobby’s life.
