Carolyn MacDermott Calhoun, 76 of Bolivia, NC & formerly of Bedford County, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018.  She was born on Monday, February 24, 1941 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late William Cranston MacDermott and Grace Oliver MacDermott.  

She was a Certified Nursing Assistant. 

She is survived by her husband, James Leslie Calhoun; her sons, David Charles Mitchell of Jupiter, FL, Brett Eric Mitchell of Zebulon, NC; her daughters, Shelby Lee Daniel of Four Oaks, NC, Kristi Lynn Charrier of Collierville, TN; her step-sons, James Calhoun, Coast Guard, Jason Calhoun of Shalotte, NC, Brian Calhoun of Shalotte, NC; her brothers, Grady Farley,  Billy MacDermott as well as 12 grandchildren & eight great grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston and a funeral service follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel, with Rev. Allan Murphy officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
