Obituary of Rebecca Craig Zimmerman

Rebecca Craig  Zimmerman, 81 of  Bedford, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Guggenheimer Nursing Home.  She was born on Wednesday, May 20, 1936 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late William Barnard Craig  and Pearl Fannie Cundiff Craig .  She was also preceded in death by a brother, John I. Craig.   

She was a Secretary at D-Z Electric and was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.  She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years & 1/2 years after having met 9 days earlier, Guy Duvall Zimmerman; her daughter, Sharon Leigh Zimmerman DeLong; her grandchildren, Ronnie Allen Angle, Jr & wife, Amie Hopkins, Craig Lowry DeLong & Ruth Rucker, Courtney Leigh DeLong & Aaran Gruss; her great grandchildren, Ivy Noel Angle, Turner Allen Angle, Tallula Joy Angle, Brynn Makayla DeLong; her brothers, William R. "Bob" Craig of Madison Heights, Calvin Ray Craig of Bedford; her sisters, Virginia C. Mattox of Altavista, Elizabeth C. Aaron of Eagle Rock, Anna Craig of Altavista, Connie C. England of Bedford, Betty C. Peters of Bedford, Jean C. Brads of Montvale.  

The family would like to thank Cantra Bedford Hospice & Guggenhemier Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel with Rev. Kyle Dooley & Rev. Wayne Sellers officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.   Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
