Obituary of James Lee Overstreet

James Lee Overstreet, 69 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at his residence.  He was born on Saturday, October 23, 1948 in Bedford County, a son of the late Wesley Gilliam Overstreet and Virgie Camay Jenkins Overstreet.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Overstreet and a sister, Mary Hensley.

He was retired from English Meadows - Elks National Home Campus having worked in Ground Maintenance.  

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Jane Dooley Overstreet; two sons, Troy  Overstreet & wife, Cathy of Moneta, Gregory Overstreet & wife, Angie of Bedford; his grandchildren, Dakota, Justin, Amber, Jennifer, Samantha & Dana; his brothers, Jessie Overstreet & wife, Clara of Bedford, Jackie Overstreet & wife, Carolyn of Bedford, Tony Overstreet & wife, Becky of Bedford, Buster Overstreet & wife, Lisa of Bedford; his sisters, Sandra Butler & husband, David of Bedford, Betty Oliveira & husband, Glen of MA as well as numerous nieces & nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Pastor Earl Ragland & Rev. Solly Overstreet officiating.  Interment will follow in Holy Land Cemetery.  Friends may call Tuesday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 5 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
