Obituary of Robert Edwin White, Jr.

Robert "Bob" Edwin White, Jr., 55 of  Thaxton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Guggenhemier Nursing Home.  He was born on Saturday, September 8, 1962 in Bedford, a son of the late Robert Edwin White, Sr. and Ann Kidd White.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne White.  

Bob had a love for life and love for the Lord.  He enjoyed planting flowers, NASCAR, UVA Football and Baltimore Orioles baseball.  

He is survived by his uncle, Robert Kidd (Doris) of Bedford; his nephews, Brandon White of Roanoke, Wesley White (Leah) of Maryland; niece, Sara Sweigart (Kris) of Bedford as well as many other family members, friends and loving neighbors.  He also leave behind his special dog, Stevie, whom he loved dearly.

Special thanks to Centra Hospice and Guggenheimer Nursing Home for their excellent care during Bob's illness.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a memorial service will follow at 11AM in the chapel with Rev. Phillip Kelly & Rev. Rick Dellinger officiating.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
