Obituary of Margaret Ruff Overstreet

Margaret Ruff Overstreet, 85 of  Bedford, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on Sunday, February 12, 1933  in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Otis A. Ruff  and Lillie Orange Ruff.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Overstreet, her daughter, Kathy Farmakis, a sister, Doris Dooley and her brother, Boyce Ruff.

She was retired from Sam Moore Furniture. 

She is survived by her sons, Johnny Overstreet & wife, Kathy of Lynchburg, Terry Overstreet & wife, Glenda of Bedford, David Overstreet & wife, Teresa of Bedford, Troy Overstreet & girlfriend, Tina Duff of Evington; her sisters, Myrtle Phillips, Frances Stevens & husband, Harry as well as eight grandchildren & seventeen great grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 1 PM in the chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
