Obituary of Marie Goff Stevens

Marie Frances Goff Stevens, 72, of  Bedford, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at her residence. She was born on Saturday, March 30, 1946  in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Goff  and Addie Tolley Goff.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Wilson Goff and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Michelle Stevens. 

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lewis Edward Stevens; two sons, Ronald Lee Stevens & wife, Ava, of Goode, Douglas Edward Stevens, of Bedford; a daughter, Connie Stevens Lacy-Maxfield & husband, Brandon, of Bedford; stepdaughter, Lillian Stevens Bidwell & husband, John, of Chesterfield; two brothers, Woodrow Wade Goff, of Goode, and Keith Goff & wife, Marie, of Rustburg; two sisters, Rachel Goff Wilson & husband, Claude, of Lynchburg, and Mille Goff Stevens & husband, Phil, of Rustburg; six grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren. 

A special thank you to Dr. Gorsh and his staff at the Oncology Center in Lynchburg and to Centra Bedford Hospice. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Longwood Avenue Baptist Church, with Rev. Phil Stevens and Rev. Ross Gilfillen officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday, May 20, 2018, 3:00 till 5:00 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
