Obituary of William Lyle Johnson

William Lyle Johnson, 63 of  Bedford, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital.  He was born on Wednesday, September 22, 1954  in Bedford County, a son of Lyle Murrill Johnson and Helen Minerva Mayhew Johnson of Bedford, both of whom survive. 

He was a self-employed carpenter & painter and was a Veteran of the U. S. Air Force. 

In addition to his father & mother, he is survived by his daughter, Sereta Johnson of Bedford; his son, Jeremy Lyle Johnson of Bedford; sisters, Mary Lou Laughlin of Bedford, Amy Galaini of Bedford, Laura Ruff of Bedford; his grandchildren, Shawn LaChance, Leah LaChance, Cameron Spence, Korbin Lyle Johnson; his great-grandchildren, Abygale Hartless & Willow Hartless as well as several nieces & nephews.  

The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 12:30 PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a graveside service will follow at 1 PM at  Greenwood Cemetery.   Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
