Obituary of Mary Willie Mitchell Smallwood

Mary "Teenie" Mitchell Smallwood, 90 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center.  She was born on Wednesday, August 31, 1927 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Bernard Kenneth Mitchell and Sealer Blankenship Mitchell.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vivian Eugene Smallwood and her son, Kenneth E. Smallwood.  

She was retired from Piedmont Label and was a member of  Huddleston United Methodist Church.  

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia S. Fisher & husband, Gary Lee of Moneta; her granddaughter, Tiffani Wright & husband, Jonathan of Lynchburg; her sisters, Dorothy "Dottie" Wooldridge, Joyce Nichols, both of Bedford and Judy Tuck & husband, Manuel of Huddleston as well as two great grandchildren, Colbie & Macie Wright.  

The family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston and a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the graveside at Leftwich Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
