Obituary of Lena Bell Hubbard Lipscomb

Lena Bell Hubbard Lipscomb, of Bedford, born March 11, 1922 went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Robert L. Hubbard and Nannie Peggins Hubbard. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Woodrow, Boyd and Robert Hubbard, sisters,  Mary Durham, Janie Catron and Annie Overstreet, and a son-in-law, Kenneth B. Overstreet.

She is survived by her husband, Dewey L. Lipscomb and was married 70 years on the date of her death. She is also survived by her son, Lynwood (Rita) Lipscomb; daughter Sherry L. Overstreet; her grandchildren, Lynette (Scott) Lipscomb, Kimberly (Mark) Smith, Joseph (Tina) Overstreet, Rebecca (Lucas) Thurman and Sarah (Jeff) Overstreet, great grandchildren, Savannah, Stephanie, Sophia, Justin, Scarlett and Selah Smith.

She was a devoted Christian and member of Quaker Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 42 years. 

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Quaker Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the church cemetery with the Rev. David Timma and Rev. Vernon Delong officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bedford Hospice House, P O Box 985, Bedford, VA  24523.
