Obituary of Anne Coffey Miles

Anne Coffey Miles, 92 of  Bedford, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Oakwood Manor. She was born on Sunday, October 25, 1925  in Lynchburg, a son of the late Ward Coffey and Edna Breeden Coffey.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Harvey Miles, Jr., daughters, Linda Miles Falls, Patricia Miles Compton and a brother, Charles W. Coffey.

She was a retired school teacher with Bedford County Public Schools, a member of  Bedford Presbyterian Church and a former member of  Bedford Elks Lodge #2844. 

She is survived by her son, Frank Harvey Miles, III & partner, Majorie Kaye of  Los Angeles, CA; granddaughter, Jennifer Woody Collins & husband, Brian; and a great-granddaughter, Arwyn Collins all of Athens, OH. She is also survived by a special friend Dianne Woody. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Bedford Presbyterian Church,105 W. Main Street, Bedford, VA  24523 or Bedford Christian Ministries, 217 W. Washington Street, Bedford, VA 24523.  

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at 4:00 pm at Virginia Memorial Park with the Rev. John Salley officiating. There will be no visitation.   Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
