Obituary of Essie O'Bryan Prillaman

Essie O'Bryan Prillaman, 99 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Blue Ridge Nursing Home.  She was born on Friday, June 27, 1919  in Patrick County, a daughter of the late James Albert O'Bryan and Callie O. Wood O'Bryan.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Carper Prillaman, Sr., her sons, Wilson C. Prillaman, Jr., John Michael Prillaman, her daughter, Iris Elaine Prillaman & a brother, James M. O'Bryan.

She was a retired from Leggett Department Store, was a member of  Longwood Avenue Baptist Church, VFW Ladies Auxillary, the Women of the Moose, Peaks of Otter Rebekah Lodge and the B. P. O. E. Elks USA.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Lee Prillaman of Bedford; her daughter, Rosemary C. Prillaman of Burke; her grandchildren, Robin Childs, Jacqueline Thompson, Gregory Lee Prillaman; her half-brother, Samuel Henry Stanley of Castaic, CA, Marion Lee Stanley of Valencia, CA, daughter-in-law, Anh Ngoc Prillaman of Bedford & three great grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Franklin/Clearview Cemetery at 11 AM on Saturday, September 8, 2018 with Rev. Ross Gilfillen officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
