Obituary of Russell Lee Bryant

Russell Lee Bryant, 73 of Altavista, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.  He was born on Wednesday, November 29, 1944  in Amherst County, a son of the late Wilton Haywood Wilson  and Mattie Proffitt Bryant.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Bennett Dews.

He was retired from Limitorque Corporation with twenty-eight years of service, attended Madison Heights High School, was a member of the Moose Lodge #715 and New Beginnings Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Betsy Wilson Bennett Bryant; his daughter, Vicky Leary (John), granddaughter, Lindsey Bryant and great grandchildren, Annabell & Parker; his son, Michael Bennett, Sr., grandchildren, Michael Bennett, Jr., Gabriel & Cameron Bennett.

The family will receive friends beginning at 4 PM on Monday, September 10, 2018 at New Beginnings Baptist Church and a memorial service will follow at 5 PM with Pastor Bobby Brumfield officiating.
