Giles Ronald Whitmore, 70 of Bedford, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on Tuesday, May 30, 1939 in Lexington, VA, a son of the late Samuel Giles McKemy and the late Kathleen Whitmore Jones . He was also preceded in death by his Step-Father, Tom Jones He was a retired Electrician at Bunker Hill Foods and loved fishing, working in his yard and fruit orchard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. and the U.S. Air Force. Surviving are his wife, Linda Newman Whitmore of Bedford, sister, Peggy Argenbright & her husband Wilton of Buena Vista, Brother, Elden McKemy of Montgomery, AL, nephew, Brian Arehart of Lexington, VA, neice, Kim Camper & her husband Darrell of Troy, Great Nephew, Ian Camper, Great Neice, Anna Kathleen Camper, Special friends, John Painter, Kim Painter, Andrew Painter, Godson, Conner Painter. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Updike Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 5, 2010 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford
