Obituary of Anna May "Nancy" Rocha Burnette

Anna May "Nancy" Rocha Burnette, 84 of  Bedford, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Bedford County Nursing Home.  She was born on Monday, August 20, 1934 in Tiverton, RI, a daughter of the late Jesse Silvia Rocha and Olivia Francis Rocha.  She was also preceded in death by her  husband, Julian Martin Burnette.  

She retired as a clerk from Wal Mart with 23 years of service and was a member of  Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.

She is survived by her four daughters, JoAnne B. Anderson of Bedford, Julie B. Hodges (Mark) of Bedford, Marsha Burnette (Rod Fajardo) of Richmond,  Sylvia B. Martin (James) of Lynchburg; two sons, Keith M Burnette (Robin) of Bedford, J.R. Burnette (Jane) of Bedford; sister, Pat Rodricks of California;  fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church with Father Stephen McNally officiating.  Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Friday, October 26, 2018, 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
