I was fortunate to spend my summers as a child at Smith Mountain Lake with my siblings, mom, and dad. Uncle Buzz, Aunt Margie, George and Ann were very close by and we had magical times. We learned to waterski, fish, swim and Aunt Margie was instrumental in teaching me to float . Uncle Buzz also took time out to take my brother and I trout fishing (big fun, caught fish). I dearly loved being around his family and him. I am so saddened by his loss for my cousins and their families.
I regret not spending more time with him. I will aspire to be as kind and generous
as he was. All of my love to his extended family. I remember staying with you guys while mom and dad were in the Bahamas. Even though my Parakeet flew off, I didn't want to go home with my parents. I just wanted to stay with your happy family, forever.

During my formative years as a State Farm agent, I was very fortunate to be given many useful tips from George. I would describe George as a wonderful man. I send my prayers to all family members.

Buzz was really an entertaining host but in conversing with him,I always learned something. His grilled pork chops are still the gold-standard. The senior golfers considered it a joy to have him in their group. Bobbie and Marion Hargrove

I remember Uncle Buzz mainly from our visits to the lake when I was a kid. He was warm and welcoming and had a genuine laugh. I picture him sitting on the porch smoking his pipe while thoroughly enjoying his family. It was obvious even then that He loved his God and his family! My prayers are with you.

I am so sorry and will miss him too. He was a wonderful person, a great inspiration to all who knew him, and a very good friend.
So sad but I know he is where he wanted to be.
