Obituary of Lois Wilkerson Abbott

Lois Wilkerson Abbott, 83 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at  Runk & Pratt.  She was born on Sunday, February 17, 1935  in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Clifton Luck Wilkerson, Sr. and Mattie Agee Wilkerson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mays Abbott & her brothers, Clifton Luck Wilkerson, Jr. & James Elmer Wilkerson.

She was retired from the Rubatex Corp. and was a member of  Main Street United Methodist Church.  

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Steven Abbott & wife, Mary; her daughter, Dale Abbott Whitten & husband, Keith; her grandchildren, John Ryan Abbott, Paige Marie Whitten, Cody Jordan Whitten as well as her brother, Winston Page Wilkerson & wife, Kathleen.  

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow in the chapel at 12:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Tom Bryant officiating.  Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
