Obituary of Davis Elbert Woodford

Davis Elbert Woodford, 82 of Huddleston, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at his residence.  He was born on Wednesday, April 8, 1936  in Bedford County, a son of the late Gilbert Ernest Woodford and Lela Mae Wilson Woodford. 

He was retired from Fred B. Fuqua Construction and was a member of Mentow Baptist Church.  

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Preston Woodford; his daughter, Annette W. Jenkins & husband, Darrell; his son, Davie Woodford & wife, Karen; his grandchildren, Coey Jenkins (Tabatha), Alisa Morton (Ben), Katalin Holland (Douglas), Hunter Woodford (Kristy), Makayla Woodford as well as two great-grandchildren, Bentley & Lainey Morton. 

The family would like to thank Centra Bedford Hospice for their exceptional care and concern and if you so desire, please make donations to them at 1621 Whitfield Drive, Bedford, VA 24523 or Mentow Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2890 Mentow Drive, Huddleston, VA 24104.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Mentow Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at 3 PM with Rev. Wayne Murphy and Rev. Rick Foster officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
