Hubert Nathan Shrewsbury, 90 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Bedford County Nursing Home. He was born on Thursday, June 17, 1920 in Bedford Co., a son of the late Nathan Dabney Shrewsbury and Annie Elizabeth Huddleston Shrewsbury. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hamilton Wright Shrewsbury as well as four brothers and nine sisters. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in World War II and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving is his sister, Agnes S. Huddleston of Vinton; his sister-in-law, Pearl Wright & family of Mechanicsville and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Mountain View Cemetery on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ray Lyons officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
