I remember Mrs. Swanson mostly as my friend Nate's mom. She was such a delight the few times we met. She once convinced me to help her by working the polls one election day. The money was OK, but I only realized the day was to begin at 5:00 AM and last until seven at night in the nick of time to find an excuse. I always felt guilty about that. I know that Nate adored his mom and will miss her very much.
