Obituary of Nannie Walker Overstreet

Nannie Walker Overstreet, 98 of  Moneta, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at her residence.  She was born on Monday, May 2, 1921  in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Jesse Walker and Viola Crouch Walker.  She was also preceded in death by husband, Raleigh Virgil Overstreet and her brother, Davis Walker and sister, Helen Moore.

She retired from Altavista Manufacturing.  She was a member of Radford Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Marie O. Findley & husband, Les of Moneta; her grandsons, Chris Powers & wife, Jenny & their children, Andy and Logan of Myrtle Beach, Terry Findley & wife, Sarah & their children, Rowen and Adele of Christiansburg; her sister, Hazel Myers & husband, Marshall of Moneta as well as several special nieces and nephews.  A special thank you to caregiver, Pearl Burdett.

The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Gentle Shepherd Hospice, 6045 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019, at 1:00 pm at Updike Funeral Home Chapel Bedford, with Rev. Danny Holdren and Rev. Vernon DeLong  officiating.  Interment will follow in the Walker Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19, 2019, from 4 until 6 pm at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
