The death of Joyce has saddened many. Please accept my deepest sympathy. The Bible says we should weep with those who weep (Romans 12:15). God has put it in our hearts to show fellow feeling to one another and may the loving and practical support provided by friends and family help to soothe your pain at this difficult time. God knows how much you are hurting and so he has recorded in his Word the feelings experienced by Jesus when Jesus' friend, Lazarus died. When Jesus saw Lazarus' family and friends weeping he "groaned within himself and became troubled" to the extent that he wept (John 11:33 and 35). Do take courage that in the same way that Lazarus was brought back to life so will Joyce. Jesus said that he was the resurrection and the life and the one who exercises faith in him even though he dies, will come to life (John 11:25). Future resurrections will take place. May this divine hope serve to comfort you now and in the days ahead. This hope will be realized by those living and those resurrected when Paradise is regained (Luke 23:43).
