Obituary of Harold Joseph Elting, Jr

Harold Elting, 84 of  Bedford passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019.  He was born on Saturday, February 23, 1935  in Jersey City, NJ, a son of the late Harold Joseph Elting, Sr. and Marjorie Mae Tuers Elting .  He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Margaret Pope Elting, his brothers, Richard Elting and Donald Elting; and a sister, Lorraine Varnell.

He was a retired Baptist Minister and a US Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict.  He is survived by his wife, Betty Mills Elting of Bedford; daughters, Karen M. Cico & husband, Lee of Bedford and Sandra Carnahan & Evan Leonard of Kansas City, MO; brothers, William Elting & wife, Carol of Whiting, NJ, and Robert  Elting of Bloomington, IN; sisters, Marjorie Oliveira & husband, George, Maureen Lewczak & husband, James all of Port Orange, FL, Beverly Kascmar of Wellsboro, PA; four grandchildren, Jared Cico, Nicole Cico, Kayla Pingsterhaus & husband, Kyle and Stefanie Carnahan; a step-daughter, Merita M. Hall & husband, Marshall; a step-son, Charles Joseph Mills & wife, Yvonne;  step grandsons, Marty Hall & wife, Kristin, Joshua Mills and Zakkary Mills; and a step great-grand-daughter, Jada Hall .

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Updike Funeral Home Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Mark Manning & Rev. Matt Swiatkowski officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.   The family will receive friends  on Friday, August 30, 2019  from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. at Updike Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bedford.
