Obituary of Mary Lucille Brinkley McVay Jenkins

Mary Lucille Brinkley McVay Jenkins, 93 of  Blairs passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019. She was born on Wednesday, September 20, 1926  in Granite Falls, NC, a daughter of the late Rufus Emanual Brinkley  and Annie Clay Brinkley .  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Wade W. McVay, her ex-husband, Carl Jenkins, and a son Carl Jenkins and two brothers. 

She was a Sewing Machine Operator at Fieldcrest Mills and a member of  Hillcrest Baptist Church in Danville . She is survived by her sons, Larry Wade McVay of Danville, Johnny  McVay of Severville, TN; daughters, Dianne McVay of Severville, TN and Bonnie Whitaker of Blairs;  a special family friend, Barry Burks.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 2 PM at Mt. Horeb U.M. Church Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
