Anna Marie Abel Gribble, 85 of Huddleston, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at Oakwood Manor Health & Rehab. Center. She was born on Friday, April 3, 1925 in Stroudsburg, PA, a daughter of the late Curtis Abel and Louise Bechtle Abel. She was a retired employee of the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services. She was a member of the Smith Mountain Lake Fire Belles of the Saunders Fire Department, Huddleston, life member of the V. F. W, Bedford, life member of the NRA and was a NRA youth instructor, member of the Lake Quilters and attended Patmos United Methodist Church. She was a longtime motorcycle rider and also enjoyed sewing, having made many outfits for her girls as well as painting and traveling. She also spent many hours hunting and trap shooting. Surviving is her husband of sixty years, Clement Joseph Gribble; two daughters, Sara L. Fackina & husband, Robert of Flemington, NJ, Lucy A. Snyder & husband, Charles of Moneta, three grandchildren, Stacy, Travis & Charles Snyder. The family would like to thank the staff of Oakwood Manor Rehabilitation Center for their care during her stay. A special thanks to Dr. Beahm, the nurses and the support staff for their assistance and concern. Their acts of kindness truly exemplify the meaning of a healthcare professional. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Dr. Carl H. Douglass, Jr. officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
