Obituary of Frances Parker Bowling

Frances Parker Bowling, 76 of Thaxton passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at Guggenheimer Nursing Home. She was born on Tuesday, November 30, 1943 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late William Parker and Mary Farley Parker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Lee Bowling & her son, Joseph McLin. She was retired from Moneta Dress Factory and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Elmer McLin; her daughters, Mary M. Vickhouse, Phyllis Smith (Craig), Joanie Buchanan (Ralph); her step-daughters, Judy Bowling Agee, Diane B. West (Sammy), Melissa Bowling Sites; her step-son, Chester Bowling, Jr.; her niece, Betty Stinnett, seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Holy Land Cemetery at 12 noon on Thursday, March 12, 2020 with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. There is no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
