Kenneth Gene Mitchell, Sr., 78 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Bedford County Nursing Home. He was born April 5, 1932 in Bedford County, son of the late Emmitt C. Mitchell and Jessie Bell Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Cary Mitchell and Lewis Mitchell and a sister, Lois Bryant. He was a retired employee of the Rubatex Corporation and was a founding member of the Outlaw Gang Riding Club. He is survived by his sons, Emmett G. Mitchell and Kenneth G. Mitchell II and a daughter, Jeanne Marie Watson, two step-sons, Collins Orange and David Orange as well as nine grandchildren, all of Bedford Co. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Otterville United Methodist Church with Rev. Emmanuel Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 2 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
