Velma Crouch Davis, 83 of Bedford, passed away Friday, May 1, 2020 at Bedford County Nursing Home. She was born on Saturday, March 6, 1937 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Warren Smithdeal Crouch and Margaret Cristin Holdren Crouch. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Marshall Davis.
She is survived by her son, Daniel W. Davis & friend, Mary; daughter, Joan Paxton & husband, Rob; her grandchildren, April Dawn, Kristy Sheffey & husband, Eric, Nathan Paxton; two great granddaughters; her brother, Nelson Crouch; her sisters-in-law, Fannie Gardner, Sharon Crouch, Mary Davis; her brothers-in-law, Andrew Davis & wife, Ella, Bob Davis, Sherman Davis & wife, Ruth; former sister-in-law, Mary Wagner as well as numerous nieces, nephews & friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to either the Humane Society of your choice or the Salvation Army, Lynchburg, Center of Hope.
A private family graveside will be held on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Wilkerson officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
