Dorothy Puckett Overstreet, 77 of Bedford, VA passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Sunday, May 7, 1933 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Matthew Lewis Puckett and Callie Mae Sigmon Puckett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Burks Overstreet and a daughter, Linda O. Woolfolk. Surviving are her sons, William David Overstreet & wife, Sandra of Bedford, Anthony Burks Overstreet & wife, Gracie of Big Island; Henry Solly Overstreet & wife, Shannon of Bedford, a daughter, Cindy Blankenship & husband, Wayne of Bedford; a brother, Henry Shelton Puckett of Bedford; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Bob Sowder officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Memorial Park at Holy Land USA. Friends may call Monday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Pm at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
