I'd like to extend my most sincere condolences to Mr. & Mrs. Bond, Stewart, Mitchell and all of the Bond friends and family.
I had the pleasure of seeing and talking with Steve this past Winter at Lowes. Steve, as always, was most interested and most interesting....simply a joy to engage in conversation. I'm sad for your loss. I pray that God offer peace and comfort.

My heart is breaking over this. All the wonderful memories of our childhood came flooding back. The summer days of wading in the Goose Creek. Sitting on the front porch eating ice-cream, which was sometimes homemade. Catching the little fish in the creek and having Mommom (Jewel Luck) fry them for our lunch. And Helen Luck helping us with whatever craft we were doing, or chiding us for being underfoot.
The winter was just as fun. At Christmas playing Monopoly for days, and later when we were older, playing Rook.
More recently sharing some dinners at Myrtle Beach and just the company spent reminiscing.
I will never forget the wonderful family reunion last summer. It will remain so special. Until we meet again in The Sweet By and By. To wade the creeks again, and pull mints with Jewel....Cindy (Haymaker) Buchanan.

I worked with Steve for such a short time as a volunteer at the Bedford Area Welcome Center. He was a great asset as a greeter to visitors with that ever present smile and his great knowledge of the area. Steve was a super cook and brought in treats to all the other volunteers. Steve was also known for his pies, cakes and canned pickles & jams at various events around Bedford. Steve was a gentle man and everyone he met became his friend. We will all miss that smile and his big heart.

I am SO saddened to learn of Steve's passing. I've known him since I was 16 years old. He was ALWAYS kind, humble, sweet spirited, and truly a compassionate, loving, respectful man. What a sad loss for his family and the entire Bedford community.
Last December I got Steve to make a coconut cake for me, which I tried to pass off as my own at my Christmas dinner. It was so perfect and delicious and no one believed that I made it. Steve was such a talented baker and cook.
My sincere condolences to the Bond family. This is such a sad loss.
