Betty Goode was indeed a great cook and friendly lady. Whenever we were in the Bedford or lake area, my family insisted on preordering some of her delicious fried chicken. She also catered my sister wedding and showcased her wonderful ham biscuits!
To the family, I am so sorry for your lost. RIP, Betty!

Steve and Jeff, I am so sad to learn of your mother's moving to Heaven, for as God tells us in His word to us, that when we become absent from the body, we come in the presence of the Lord. I am so sad, too, that I could not attend the graveside service today as, if I remember, your dad's was private. I know you are all comforted in knowing your mom and dad are now both together with Jesus in Heaven, where now they wait for the rest of us to catch up - the is the main and only comfort I cling to every day. We will be praying for you both and your families - I pray that Christ is in each of your lives, too, and that you will feel His comfort and peace, and then know one day, you all, too, will leave the earthly body behind and have your soul enter Heaven. My mother loved going to Goode's on Fridays, after getting her hair done - those two events on Fridays would make her whole week. I will also always remember the three birthday cakes per year for the girls for several years running - Betty's good cooking and Norris' great art - we all loved them. God bless all of you in every way always. Steve and Donna Arrington

Betty catered our 25th wedding anniversary in 1993 and made me many ham biscuits over the years. Goode's Country Kitchen was the place to go after church on Sunday. l also remember her in the Children's Dept. at Bedford Baptist Church getting our son's to eat strawberries after they were coated in sugar... only Miss Betty could do that. Know that she is now dancing with the angels and her love, Norris.
