Marvin Eugene Harris, Sr., 86 of Lynch Station, VA passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at his residence. He was born on Monday, February 12, 1934 in Bedford, VA, a son of the late John Calvin Harris and Beulah Reese Harris. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Marie Emerson Harris. He was a Loom Technician at BGF Industries. He is survived by his wife, Dora Jeanette Brown Dowdy of Lynch Station; sons, Butch Harris & wife, Betty, Bobby Harris & wife, Eva; daughters, Penny H. Agee & husband, Bill, Cindy H. Krantz & husband, Doug; grandchildren, Crystal Creasy, Terry Harris, Shawn Bowden, Jessie Fielder, Amanda Chambers, Candy Mason, Cory Krantz, Cody Krantz, Ashley Dowdy; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider The American Cancer Society, 2050 Langhorne Road, Suite 201, Lynchburg, VA 24501 or the National Kidney Foundation, 2601 Willard Road, Suite 103, Richmond, VA 23294. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Leesville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Larry Evans officiating. The Harris family and UFH requests everyone follow social distancing guidelines and wear masks. Due to the COVID virus there will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
