Herman Glynwood Witt, 78 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his residence. He was born on Monday, February 9, 1942 in Bedford County, a son of the late Garland Edward Witt and Laura Laughlin Witt. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Landon Edward Witt, Garland Alvin Witt, Sherman Lynwood Witt, Odell Davis Witt, Wendell Ray Witt and his sisters, Nina Pearl Witt, Patricia Ann Cunningham, Nancy Leigh Lacy. He retired from Rubatex Corporation and was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church. He is survived by wife, Shirley Witt Witt; his sons, Herman G. Witt, Jr. (Linda), Avery K. Witt (Teresa), John E. Witt (Ashley), Anthony C. Dooley (Jennifer); his daughter, Dawn M. Crockett (Brad); grandchildren, Holly W. Oliver, Heidi W. Estep (Carl), Lynn N. Stovall, Hannah M. Dooley, Kaylea Skye Witt, Rylee M. Crockett, Logan P. Dooley, Levi R. Crockett, John A. (Jack) Witt; his great grandson, Jovi Wayne Martin as well as his sisters, Charlotte Sue Sexton (Randy), Laura Jane Bradley. The family would like to thank Centra Hospice and Kendred at Home for their loving care during Hermans illness. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Nicopolis United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Kelley officiating. There is no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
