Lawrence Morgan "Buddy" Overstreet, 74 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Oakwood Manor Health & Rehab. Center. He was born on Wednesday, January 27, 1937 in Bedford County, a son of the late Julian Lawrence Overstreet and Gladys Nichols Overstreet. He was a retired carpenter and was a U. S. Navy veteran. Surviving is his wife, Naomi Mae Talbott Overstreet; a son, Lawrence Morgan Gibson of Bedford; two sisters, Barbara Brown & husband, Hylas of Rocky Mount, Shelby Davis & husband, Ted of Waynesboro; a brother, Jimmy Overstreet & wife, Norma of Bedford. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 11 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 Pm at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
