Davis Raymond Dowdy, 79 of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on Monday, September 8, 1941 in Bedford County, a son of the late Raymond Julian Dowdy and Verna Faye Franklin Dowdy.
He was a Sales Representative & Manager with Woodmen of the World for 40+ years and was a lifetime member of Bedford Moose Lodge #1897.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Parks Dowdy; his son, Troy Davis Dowdy & significant other, Brandy Dawn Witt; his grandchildren, Meghan Dowdy, Trace Davis Witt, Alexa Jean Dowdy, Kelsey Page Lacy; a great-granddaughter, Kinsley Mae Poston; brother, Daniel Dowdy & wife, Joan as well as his brother-in-law, Kenneth W. Parks & wife, Beatrice.
Per his wishes and due to COVID there will be no services.
Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
