Dorothy Melissa Hartley, 70 of Moneta, VA went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Diana and a son, Donald Jeffery Winslow. Surviving is her loving husband, William John (Bill) Hartley; two wonderful children, Melissa Albert & husband, Eric of Chesterfield; Timothy Kevin Winslow & wife, Carrie of Virginia Beach, four grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn Fisher of Bermuda, Ethel Cunningham of CA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg,. VA 24501 or Bedford Hospice Care, P. O. Box 688, Bedford, VA 24253. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Resurrection Catholic Church and Bedford Hospice Care for their help, loving care and concern during Mrs. Hartley's illness. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
