Obituary of Irma Carwile Davis

Irma Wray Carwile Davis, 81 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Saturday, May 20, 1939 in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Clarence Edward Carwile and Louise Skinnell Carwile. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Abraham Davis. She graduated from Huddleston High School and served in the U. S. Marine Corps. She retired from Montague Betts. She is survived by her brother, Sherman Carwile; her sister, Carolyn Carwile Patterson; a step-daughter, Vicky Cheatham as well as her step-grandchildren, Kristine Cheatham, Taylor Cheatham. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Virginia Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. The Davis family and Updike Funeral Home requests that everyone follow CDC guidelines and practice social distancing and masks will be required. There is no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
